A spectacular sight just before sunset when the gull start to take flight to rest beyond the breakers off Daytona Beach Shores, FL. Many birdwatchers will both identify and count birds of individual species. They can be added to their 'life list" and also reported via ebird.org and their app to add to the body of scientific knowledge used to track bird populations. This day, it was beyond human ability to accurately count.
